“I just wanted to do some duets with some artists I really liked and some voices I like,” Jewel explains. “Kelly was amazing. She was a hoot to have in the studio. She had done ‘Foolish Games’ in several talent shows prior to ‘American Idol,’ so she really knew it. I’m such a fan of her voice and love what she added to the song. She was so effortless on it. Icona Pop Get “Ready For The Weekend” With New Club Smash

Swedish electropop duo Icona Pop turned their Charli XCX-penned ode to reckless living, “I Love It,” into the song of the summer - and now, they’ve recorded a surefire anthem for the weekend, too. The club mix of “Ready For The Weekend,” which just premiered via Pitchfork, is six minutes of throbbing house beats and chopped ‘n’ screwed vocals: It’s darker and more muscular than the euphoric “I Love It,” but just as well-suited for the dancefloor. Hear the track after the jump.

“Grab somebody, go and live it up!” the girls chant over glitchy, dubby instrumentation. If anything could get hordes of partygoers ready for the weekend, it’s this.

“Ready For The Weekend” drops tomorrow on Beatport, with their upcoming EP The Iconic (featuring “I Love It” alongside some previously unreleased tracks) due out October 16.

After arriving stateside for the MTV VMAs, the boys of One Direction got to log some much needed hang time with friend, mentor and fellow VMA nominee Justin Bieber in L.A.

Reports say that the boys were excited to see one another, but according to The Bieb’s manager Scooter Braun, the hangout sesh (that’s short for ‘session’) may have been a little too much teenaged hottness for the world to handle.

Tavi Gevinson Set to Star in First Feature Film, Signs With Major Hollywood Agency

Does Tavi Gevinson possess some kind of goal to overcome every creative medium there's before she turns 18? Having a resume that already causes us to be seem like we may as well just quit, Gevinson just added an entire new career: Hollywood actress.

The fashion blogger switched editor/singer/model/individual who goes to highschool has signed onto make her acting debut inside a feature film by author/director Nicole Holofcener, The Hollywood Reporter is confirming. She’ll play Chloe, “an only child who never received much attention from her parents, forcing her to develop up faster than her peers.” Seem familiar (except we’re sure the actual Tavi has great parents)?

She's stated in interviews that they’s thinking about acting (and was involved with school plays), but who understood she had been, like, going to star inside a movie alongside James Gandolfini and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (presuming this IMDB page is perfect for the film under consideration)? She told us captured, whenever we questioned her in regards to a film she starred set for clothing label Wren:

I love acting and singing and do not really mind modeling and, within the right contexts, would most likely enjoy more later on.
